About this unit
Stories That Stick is a complete seven-lesson narrative writing unit for Years 7–8, aligned to Australian Curriculum v9.0 (AC9E7LE03, AC9E7LE07, AC9E8LE06, AC9E7LY06, AC9E8LY06). Australian spelling throughout.
Students move from the story arc to STEAL characterisation, show-don't-tell, setting and atmosphere, and correctly punctuated dialogue. They then plan a timed draft matched to the 42-minute NAPLAN writing test, revise it and write an assessed narrative.

- Writer's toolkit, self and peer checklists
- Assessment task with prompts
- 10-criterion NAPLAN-style rubric with A–E conversion
- Full answer keys and a curriculum code table
- An editable 45-slide PowerPoint with speaker notes
